At the age of 16 years old, Dennis started a five-year apprenticeship that would cover all the fields of the automobile industry. He also attended the Paddington Technical College in London and the Basingstoke Technical College in Hampshire. After he completed his apprenticeship and became certified in all aspects of automotive technology. During his apprenticeship he served with Roots Group and later transferred to British Leyland and Rolls Royce.

In 1963 at the age of 22 he immigrated to the United States, where he set up Capitol Motors as the first foreign car dealership in Annapolis. He trained other mechanics to work on imported cars that included Roots Group and British Leyland Corporation.

A lifetime of experience in imported vehicles

Dennis served as their service manager for the next five years. He left Capitol Motors to set up other dealerships, including; Severna Auto Sports for Saab and Fiat and other foreign cars. He was then hired by Gladding Rolls Royce as the service director to oversee Rolls Royce. Bentley, MG, Austin Healey, and BMW, and finally Toyota City for Toyota, Jaguar Saab and other fine imports.


In 1977 he opened his own business, City Imports Ltd. at a location on Crain Hwy in Glen Burnie. In 1990, due to expansion, City Imports Ltd. moved to its present location at Penrod Court, still in Glen Burnie. In 1999 he started City Imports Auto auto sales and now sells pre-owned imported cars. Dennis and his staff strive for excellence in all phases of the business and he invites you to stop by the dealership and become part of the extended family, which is how all customers are treated!
